When The Tide is High I Shall Come

Two teenage lovers from neighboring villages in Zimbabwe, Anesu and Nakai, take their love to the high seas. Anesu flees to South Africa after falling out with his father Rev. Zivanai, while Nakai gets a scholarship to go study abroad. They are separated for seven years but Anesu ‘s unbridled and unwavering desire and longing for the love of his life tempts him to go out into the world to search for her. In South Africa, he works in a church for livelihood, before moving into a refugee camp in Durban when the church is burned down by mob following the prevailing xenophobic spike in the country. Later, he works in a mine in Richards Bay and finally lands a permanent job at the same mine which is by the coast line. Not so long after his employment, he sneaks his way on board a cargo ship, MV. Marcia, and escapes to England as a stowaway. As fate would have it, one of the sailors on board the ship is Nakai who is a marine engineer but they never see each other until in the Somali waters when Anesu is found hiding and narrowly escapes death by help of Nakai, Later on, the ship is seized by furious pirates at the Gulf of Aden, then the captain escapes as the worst happens to the two lovers who have shortly just met again.
